Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 8, 2026

TeenJob.ca (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a job network that connects young people in Canada with employers. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

We collect only the information we need to run the site.

  • Account information. When you register, we collect your email address and the login details you create. You may add more to your profile if you choose.
  • Job applications. When you apply for a job through the site, we collect what you submit with the application, such as your name, contact details, message and any resume or file you attach.
  • Employer and job listing information. When you post a job, we collect the listing details and the business and contact information you provide.
  • Purchases. When an employer buys a job package, we collect billing name, address and order details. Card payments are handled by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not see or store full card numbers.
  • Messages. When you use our contact form, we collect your name, email address and the message you send.
  • Technical information. Like most websites, our servers record basic technical details such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. We use this to keep the site secure and working properly.

How we use your information

  • To create and manage your account.
  • To publish job listings and deliver job applications to the employer who posted the job.
  • To process orders and send receipts and service messages.
  • To reply to questions and requests.
  • To protect the site and its users from spam, fraud and misuse.

Young people using this site

You must be at least 18 to create an account yourself. If you are 14 to 17, a parent or guardian must create and manage the account on your behalf, and should share only what an application needs. TeenJob.ca is not intended for anyone under 14, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 14.

Parents and guardians who have questions about their child’s information, or who want it corrected or removed, can contact us at any time.

Who we share information with

We do not sell personal information. We share it only in these situations:

  • Employers. When you apply for a job, your application is sent to the employer who posted it. That employer is responsible for how they handle it from there.
  • The public. Job listings, including the business details an employer chooses to include, are published on the site.
  • Service providers. We use other companies to host the site, process payments (Stripe) and deliver email. They may handle personal information on our behalf, only to provide those services.
  • Legal reasons. We may disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our users.

Some of our service providers may store or process information outside Canada, where it is subject to the laws of that country.

Cookies and third-party content

We use cookies to keep you logged in, remember what is in your cart and keep the site secure. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site, such as logging in and checkout, will not work without them.

Some pages load content from other companies, such as fonts and maps from Google. Those companies may receive your IP address when that content loads and have their own privacy policies.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information for as long as your account is open or as long as we need it for the purposes described above, and to meet legal and accounting requirements. You can ask us to delete your account and the information connected to it.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or withdraw your consent to our using it. We will respond within a reasonable time. If we cannot do what you ask, for example because the law requires us to keep a record, we will tell you why.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect personal information, including encrypted connections and restricted access. No website can guarantee complete security, so please use a strong, unique password for your account.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page.
