Terms and Conditions

Last updated: October 8, 2026

These terms apply to your use of TeenJob.ca (“the site”, “we”, “us”, “our”). By using the site, creating an account, applying for a job or posting a job, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. What TeenJob.ca is

TeenJob.ca is a job board that connects young people in Canada with employers. We publish job listings and pass applications to the employer who posted the job. We are not an employer, a recruiter or an employment agency. We are not a party to any agreement between a job seeker and an employer, and we do not guarantee that any application will lead to an interview or a job.

2. Who can use the site

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account yourself. If you are 14 to 17, a parent or guardian must create and manage the account on your behalf. The site is not intended for anyone under 14. Employers must have the legal authority to post jobs on behalf of the business they represent.

3. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login details private and for everything done through your account. Give accurate information when you register and keep it up to date. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.

4. For job seekers

  • Information you include in an application is sent to the employer who posted the job. Share only what the application needs.
  • We do not check every listing or employer. Use your own judgment, involve a parent or guardian, and never pay an employer or share banking details in order to apply for a job.
  • If a listing looks suspicious or inappropriate, please report it to us through the Contact Us page.

5. For employers

When you post a job, you confirm that:

  • the job is real, currently open and accurately described, including pay, hours and location;
  • the job and your hiring practices comply with the laws that apply to you, including employment standards, minimum wage, human rights, and the rules on employing young workers in your province or territory;
  • you will not charge applicants a fee, and the listing is not for commission-only schemes, multi-level marketing, adult services or anything unlawful;
  • you will use applicants’ personal information only to consider them for the job, keep it secure, and handle it in line with applicable privacy law.

We may edit, decline or remove any listing that we believe breaks these terms or is unsuitable for a youth audience.

6. Paid listings and payment

Posting a job requires buying a job package. The price, the number of listings included and how long a listing stays active are shown before you pay. Prices are in Canadian dollars and applicable taxes are added at checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store your card details.

All purchases are final. We do not offer refunds, including where a listing is filled or withdrawn early, or is removed because it breaks these terms.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • post false, misleading, discriminatory, offensive or unlawful content;
  • contact other users for anything other than the job in question, or harass or exploit them;
  • collect other users’ information by scraping or any automated means;
  • interfere with the site, attempt to get around its security, or use it to send spam or malware.

8. Content and intellectual property

You keep ownership of the content you submit, such as job listings and application materials. You give us permission to display, store and share it as needed to run the site. The site’s own design, text, logos and software belong to us or our licensors and may not be copied or reused without permission.

9. Links to other websites

Listings may link to employers’ own websites or to other services. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or how they handle your information.

10. No guarantees

We work to keep the site accurate and available, but we provide it “as is”. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, that listings are accurate or complete, or that employers or job seekers are who they say they are.

11. Limit of our liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the site, or for any dealings between job seekers and employers. Where we are liable to an employer, our total liability is limited to the amount that employer paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be excluded.

12. Suspending or closing accounts

You can close your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or close an account, or remove content, if we believe these terms have been broken or if it is needed to protect other users.

13. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect and how we use it. It forms part of these terms.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the updated terms.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.

16. Contact us
